Da Nang focuses on implementing three economic development tasks

The Da Nang People's Committee has promulgated specific plans to implement the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress in association with the implementation of strategies adopted by the municipal Party Committee, with a focus on implementing key tasks related to economic development.

The first task is to focus on concretising the implementation of three strategic breakthroughs according to the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, reviewing and releasing mechanisms and policies, creating a favourable, healthy and fair investment and business environment for all economic sectors, and effectively using all resources for development steps.

The Da Nang administration is effectively promoting the implementation of the Prime Minister-approved adjustments to the Master Plan for its major developments by 2030, with a vision towards  2045, in parallel with implementing development plans for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050, and the central key economic region planning with a focus on ensuring the city’s stature as the hub.

By 2025, the digital economy will have accounted for at least 25% of the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP), of which the information technology (IT) industry will make up for at least 10% of the city's GRDP.

Sources will be mobilised to effectively deploying a project to build Da Nang into an environmental city in 2021 - 2030 period with the content of striving that by 2025, 100% of establishments causing serious environmental pollution will have been  treated.

The city will continue to actively cooperate with central ministries to complete amendments and supplements to Decree No. 144/2016/ND-CP stipulating the implementation of a number of on special mechanisms for Da Nang in terms of investment, finance, budgetary status, and decentralization, and then submit them to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval.

The second task is to restore and accelerate socio-economic development, strongly renew the growth models, and restructure the local economy.

The city will develop a project aimed at accelerating the process of economic restructuring in association with innovating the growth models, improving labour productivity, and enhancing the competitiveness of the local economy.

Ways to develop supporting industries in the city by 2030 must be taken into account so that by 2025, the proportion of processing and manufacturing industry in the city’s GRDP will have reach over 15%.

In addition, the city will promote the implementation of solutions to restructuring, restoring and developing tourism, research new tourism products, key and specific tourism products, and restore the international tourist market once the national government allows the resumption of international commercial flight routes following the COVID-19 containment, and take measures to promote night economy and inland waterway tourism.

The third task is to speed up the local socio-cultural development in sync with economic progress, develop and implement a project to continue implementing the ‘5 No’s, 3 Yes’s’ campaign and ‘The City of 4 Safe Programmes’  in the 2021 - 2025 period in line with the city's practical situation, in which heed will paid to improving the content quality of programme associated with urban civilisation construction.
