Boosting consumption of products produced by Da Nang's cooperatives
The opening of a retail and display booth for products produced by Da Nang's cooperatives in the Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market on November 10 promises to help cooperatives citywide introduce their products to customers and expand their consumption markets, thereby driving their post-pandemic production restoration.

As noted, a combined total of over 100 good-quality products of clear origin produced by 17 the city-based cooperatives are on sale at the booth. Included are Hoa Phuoc organic rice, Hoa Bac chicken eggs, Ocean seaweed, La Huong organic vegetables and Kim Thanh mushrooms. Notable amongst them are Ganoderma lucidum by the Nhon Phuoc Mushroom Cooperative meeting 3-star OCOP standards, and Binh Minh fish sauce meeting 4-star OCOP standards.
Specially, the 18m2 booth is located right in front of the market gate, so market-goers find it very easy to visit.
Mr. Huynh Van Muoi, Director of Kim Thanh General Trading Service Production Cooperative, said due to the impact of COVID-19, his cooperative could not attend the city’s trade promotion programmes to advertise products. Thanks to the opening of the booth, a lot of products produced by his cooperative, such as edible mushrooms, lingzhi wine and vegetarian food, can be sold to customers.
“We hope that more such booths will be put into operation in a bid to help cooperatives in the city promote product consumption and expand production, thereby significantly contributing to improving income and living standards of their members” added Director Muoi.
Cooperatives in the city highly praised the efficiency of the booth in helping them promote and introduce their products to customers, quickly restore production and business severely impacted by COVID-19, and expand their consumption markets.
Besides, the display of domestic products is an effective advertising channel to continue responding to the “Vietnamese People Give Priority to Using Vietnamese Goods” campaign. This is also a part of a series of activities to support supply - demand connection, and boost the consumption of products produced by city-based cooperatives.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Binh Minh Fish Sauce Cooperative, acknowledged that booth helps to bring cooperatives’ products closer to consumers.
“In the coming time, we will work closely with relevant agencies to ensure stable sources of quality goods and open more booth like this in the city so as to bring more high-quality agricultural products to customers” noted Mr Dung.
Mr. Ton That Uyen, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Cooperative Alliance, said all cooperatives and cooperative groups operating in the city which have products meeting the prescribed standards are eligible for displaying products at the booth.
It is expected that after 2 months of operation, the Da Nang Cooperative Alliance will coordinate with local relevant units and cooperatives to evaluate the efficiency of the kiosk so as to expand this model into other markets and public places citywide.
