KOTRA continues supporting Da Nang to attract more Korean-invested FDI projects
Mr. Kim WoonTae, the newly-accredited General Director of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Da Nang for the 2021-2024 tenure, have recently paid courtesy visits to the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs, the Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency (IPA Da Nang), and the Authority of Da Nang’s Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks.
During his visits to the aforementioned agencies, the new General Director Kim WoonTae acknowledged that Da Nang boasted great potential for the development of such aspects as tourism, service, and hi-tech and information technology industries.
He added, over recent years, a number of South Korean enterprises have shown their keen interest in seeking investment opportunities in the city in the fields of processing and manufacturing, and software technology.
“In the coming time, KOTRA will appeal for more South Korean business to learn investment climate in Da Nang, and Central Viet Nam as a whole” vowed the Korean visitor.
Director of the IPA Da Nang Huynh Lien Phuong, in reply, said since its establishment in 2019, KOTRA has become an active and reliable partner of IPA Da Nang in appealing for more South Korean businesses to invest into his locality.
He added, currently, South Korea is one of key markets that the city is conducting investment promotion activities. As of October 2021, the city had attracted Korean-invested 231 projects with a total registered capital of more than US$377 million. South Korean is the 5th largest source of foreign direct investment into Da Nang among 45 countries and territories.
This month, the Da Nang People's Committee will collaborate with the Ministry of Information and Communications and KOTRA Viet Nam to virtually organise an information and communication technology (ICT) investment promotion forum to mark the 29th anniversary of the Viet Nam – South Korea diplomatic ties (December 22, 1992 - 2021).
The purpose of the upcoming event is to create closer links between South Korean and Da Nang ICT enterprises, as well as to advertise the potential and advantages of Da Nang in general, and introduce investment opportunities and preferential policies in the city’s Hi-Tech Park and Dedicated IT Park to foreign investors in particular.
