Results of design contest for Hai Chau District Administrative Centre expansion announced

The Da Nang Urban Planning Institute has won the first prize at a contest seeking best architectural ideas for the expansion of the Hai Chau District Administrative Centre. Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Quang Nam attended the wards ceremony on Tuesday morning.

The total value of prizes and financial aids was VND 500 million. In detail, the first prize of VND 300 million was awarded to the Da Nang Urban Planning Institute. The second prize worth VND100 million was presented to the Ciar Urban and Architecture Co., Ltd. The third prize worth of VND 50 million went to the Viet Nam Construction Consulting Corporation - JSC.

Besides, each of the five high-scoring entries advancing to the final round, except for 3 prize-winning ones, received VND10 million each. They are the Dataa Architecture and Construction Consulting JSC, the collaboration between the Hoang Nhat Anh Architecture Company Limited and Has Architecture JSC; GK Archi Co., Ltd., the Viet Gia Phat Company Limited and the Inconarch Architecture Construction Investment Joint Stock Company.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Vice Chairman Nam highly praised entries for their high quality meeting the contest’s requirements, and ensuring planning and architectural tasks.

The city lead also assigned the Da Nang Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects to coordinate with relevant units to implement the next steps to bring the wining entry to fruition on the expansion of the Hai Chau District Administrative Centre.

It was known that 20 entries competed at the contest.

The expansion project, planned at 270 Tran Phu, Phuoc Ninh Ward, Hai Chau District with a total area of 8,010 m2, is expected to consist of the existing Hai Chau District Administrative Centre covering about 4,925 m2, the existing traffic island site with about 2,396 m2 and the planned-to-be-relocated houses nearby with a total area of about 691m2.

The planned project will border a 3m wide alley to the north, the current residential area to the west, Le Dinh Duong Street to the south and Tran Phu Street to the east.
