Director of the Da Nang Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company Ha Van Thanh informed that the dead fish were detected at the Thac Gian Lake on the morning of November 17. Right after receiving reports from local residents, his company quickly mobilized all forces and equipment to clear the dead fish.

“After the collection, we spread lime and minerals to ensure the lake was cleaned and to avoid pollution for local residents living around the lake, as well as operate aeration systems at the Vinh Trung Lake which is connected with Thac Gian Lake to increase the dissolved oxygen content of the water” added Director Thanh.

The initial cause of dead fish is determined that Thac Gian Lake has too much mud which has not been dredged for a long time, and there were a large number of fish living in the lake.

In addition, recent heavy showers following prolonged hot weather have caused an ecological imbalance in the lake.
