LG Group proposes to build a software centre in Da Nang
Within the framework of a recent webinar in Da Nang on promoting investment from the Republic of Korea into the city’s information and communication technology (ICT) sector, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh held a warm reception for General Director of LG Electronics Company Viet Nam Sung Woo Nam.
During the meeting, General Director Sung Woo Nam said, LG Group opened a LG Research and Development Centre for Vehicle Component Solutions in the Lien Chieu District-located Da Nang Information Technology Park (DITP) Tower in December 2020. The centre now has a total of 180 employees, and the figure is expected to increase to 270 by 2022.
Currently, LG Group is cooperating with the University of Da Nang to develop high-quality human resources for the centre’s research and development activities in the coming time.
The South Korean guest revealed, LG Group would open more such LG R&D Centres, and build a software development centre, in the city in the near future.
“When the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control, senior leaders of LG Group in South Korea will visit Da Nang to promote investment opportunities and expand the group's activities in the city” added Mr. Sung Woo Nam.
Chairman Le Trung Chinh, for his part, expressed his support for LG Group's expansion activities in Da Nang in the time to come. He also pledged that the local authorities would create the best favourable conditions for the group to access and recruite the city’s high-quality human resources in particular, and expand its investment and business activities in the locality in general.
