Da Nang CPI rises by 2.35% y-o-y

The latest figures released from the Da Nang General Statistics Office show that Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November increased by 0.24% as compared to the previous month.

The average CPI recorded during the January – November period saw a rise of 2.35% from the same period last year.

Seven out of the 11 main groups of goods and services recorded an increase in CPI, namely, traffic up 4.31%; beverages and tobacco 1.21%, household appliances 0.88%, apparel, hats and footwear 0.65%, other goods and services 0.33%, medicines and medical services 0.28%, education 0.1%.

There were three groups of goods that decreased in CPI as compared to the previous month, namely housing, electricity and water, fuel supplies and construction materials down 0.74%, food and catering services 0.37%, and post and telecommunications 0.02%.

The remaining one group with stable CPI is culture, entertainment and tourism.

As for some of the reasons affecting the CPI in November, the adjustments to petrol and oil prices in the month made the price index of materials (gasoline, lubricants and diesel) sharply increase by 7.97%, the retail price of kerosene up 6.83%, gas down 1.98%, domestic water supplies down 0.93% and electricity for domestic use down 4% as compared to the previous month.
