From 3:00 am, the Hieu Huynh ‘cha heo’ (pork paste) production facility in Son Tra District’s Man Thai Ward opens its doors for operation.
As observed, 4 employees of the about 100m2 production establishment are quickly performing each stage to promptly complete their daily orders. All kinds of blenders, mixers, steamers and vacuum packing machines are seen operating at full capacity.
It is known that in 2021, the establishment-produced ‘cha heo’ product was certified by the Da Nang government as a 3-star OCOP product.
Mrs. Vo Thi Huynh, the owner of the facility, said that her facility has recent increased the production of all kinds of ‘pork paste’ due to surge in public demand for Tet.
She added that ‘cha heo’ products are traditionally bought to give to relatives and friends as gifts, or as offerings. “We still try to keep the prices of our products unchanged despite a hike in the prices of raw materials of all kinds” added she.
Similarly, the bustling working atmosphere has been recently recorded at the Mat Troi Viet (Viet Sun) High-Tech Cooperative in An Hai Dong Ward.
Aside from pure freeze-dried spirulina, the Cooperative has increased the production of about 20 quality cakes with high quality and eye-catching packaging at reasonable prices in a bid to serve consumers during Tet. Included are highly nutritious spirulina, Ngoc Linh ginseng, noni, and coconut cakes.
The Cooperative also promotes the sale of Tet gift baskets with prices ranging from VND100,000 to VND1 million each.
Currently, the Cooperative's products are on sale at supermarkets, organic food stores, and OCOP product sales points in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.
Director of the Mat Troi Viet (Viet Sun) High-Tech Cooperative Dinh Nguyen Hoang Thu said: “We are expected to supply about 3-4 tons of cakes to the Tet market. Hopefully, our products will be sold well and receive support from customers. In 2022, we will register for OCOP and typical rural industrial product certifications for these cakes.”
In order to serve the shopping and gifting needs of both business and individual customers for the forthcoming Tet 2022, the Bac Dau Company located in the Da Nang Seafood Service Industrial Park has stepped up the procurement and production of its key products such as the dried catfish seasoned with spices, grilled squid, and ‘cha ca’ (fish cakes) of all kinds.
The company is likely to provide about 20-30 tons of products of all kinds to the Tet market.
According to Son Tra District’s Economic Office, there are four OCOP products meeting the 4-star requirements in district, namely the dried catfish seasoned with spices, grilled squid and ‘cha ca’ (fish cakes) by the Bac Dau Company; and pure freeze-dried spirulina products by the Mat Troi Viet (Viet Sun) Tech Cooperative. Meanwhile, ‘cha heo’ (pork paste) by the Vo Thi Huynh family-run establishment meets the 3-star OCOP requirements.
In addition, a number of other products produced by businesses and family-run establishments in the district are also recognized as typical commercial products.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai, the Head of the Son Tra District’s Economic Office, said her district would continue to coordinate with the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Industry and Trade to carry many sales programmes in order to increase the OCOP consumption for Tet.
