The first batch of locally-made Xelex tablets, consisting of 2,400 products on February 7 was rolled off the production lines of the SMT hi-tech electronics manufacturing and assembly factory (Trungnam EMS) under the Trung Nam Group located at Da Nang Dedicated Information Technology Park. The first batch is part of 100,000 tablets manufactured by Trungnam EMS in response to the national government-launched programme to provide computers and telecommunications services for students and pupils with difficult circumstances, especially those living in areas hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

 Cheap Trungnam EMS- manufactured Gamma Tab X8 aims to provide for needy students so that they can study online in the context of COVID-19. The tablet comes with a 8.0-inch touchscreen display and packs 32GB of inbuilt storage. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, comes with 3GB of RAM, and runs Android 10. Connectivity options on the Gamma Tab X8 include Wi-Fi and 4G LTE.

Many products of Trungnam EMS are being ordered by customers in health and power sectors.  The localization rate for printed circuit boards made by Trungnam EMS reaches over 60%.

Currently, Trungnam EMS is using surface-mount technology (SMT) to produce printed circuit boards and Gamma Tab X8 to churn out 1,000 products per day. The SMT production line is operated by a total of 136 engineers and technicians.

In 2022, Trung Nam Group plans to move its electronics production assembly line from the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park to the Dedicated Information Technology Park. Additional 20 SMT production lines will be put into operation at the Dedicated Information Technology Park- based factory, creating job opportunities for 1,000 to 2,000 workers.

Tablet products are manufactured by Trungnam EMS under a contract signed with the Xelex Technology Joint Stock Company under the Worldsoft Company, its partner, within the framework of the ‘Internet and computers for students’ national programme launched by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications.
