According to the Da Nang Employment Service Center, the job fair saw the participation of 81 recruiters to offer 6,300 job opportunities, and 19 of whom conducted in-person interviews.

Among these recruiters were such clothing companies as Max Planning Vina Co., Ltd., Kim Sora Co., Ltd, and the Blues One-member Co., Ltd. and each of them were in need of more than new 200 workers aged 18-25. The recruitment demand was relatively high but the number of jobseekers was very low. The majority of jobseekers at the employment fair were middle-aged people who did not meet requirements of recruiters.

According to a representative of Max Planning Vina Co., Ltd., the demand for recruiting workers from Da Nang-based businesses at the beginning of the year was quite high but the number of their hired workers was lower than expected despite the fact that they offered attractive salary and benefits.

The Da Nang Employment Service Centre has found it challenging to seek workers to meet recruitment requirements of local businesses as the number of jobseekers in the city is currently very low.

Mr Nguyen Thanh Diep, the Deputy Director of Da Nang Employment Service Centre said that his agency has worked with authorities at local level to help businesses to recruit their workers but their recruitment results were still lower than they expected. Max Planning Vina Co., Ltd is an example as it only hired less than 10 workers across Thanh Khe District.

Mr. Diep pointed out the fact that young people in Da Nang are now well-educated, highly qualified and they are unsuitable for unskilled jobs, causing shortages of young workers for businesses. Besides, young people now have thought of not liking their being confined to a company with strict discipline, rules and regulations.

In the coming time, the Da Nang Employment Service Centre will invite more businesses to join its upcoming career fairs held both in person and virtually, as well as increase the frequency of such events and improve their quality. High priority will be given to holding such virtual events that bridge Da Nang’s recruiters with jobseekers in central localities and Central Highlands. Heed will be paid to regularly organizing job fairs on Fridays at No. 278 Au Co Street, Lien Chieu District, No. 21 Phan Chau Trinh Street, Hai Chau District, and No. 657 Truong Chinh Street, Cam Le District in an attempt to help businesses hire workers.
