Da Nang tourism restorations tasks needed to be fulfilled soon

It is high time for Da Nang to must quickly restore its tourism industry to ensure the living conditions for residents whose livelihoods depend on tourism and help tourism businesses rest assured to be back to normal operations in a favorable business environment.

The instruction was delivered by Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang at the Wednesday meeting with the leaders of the local tourism industry.

He asked the tourism industry to well perform tourism promotion tasks in a great attempt to attract tourists back.

Along with that, digital transformation is also another important task to improve the quality of tourism operation and management.

The non-smoke industry was also highly recommended to create many attractive new tourism products to lure more travellers to the city.

Meanwhile, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet underlined a must-do to implement a programme themed ‘Focusing on tourism development and high-quality services associated with resort real estate; building Da Nang into a leading tourist, service destination at regional level, a city of events and a centre of international conferences’.

Besides promoting new products, it is necessary to continue to expand the tourist market, urgently pay attention to training human resources in service for tourism and continue to give more support to workers and businesses in the field of tourism.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh asked the Department of Tourism to effectively exploit tourism products, especially fully tapping the functions of cultural institutions.

Beside, refreshing tourism products associated with implementing regional linkage programmes and enhancing tourism marketing and promotion must be given a special heed.

The municipal administration will continue to support and promote the implementation of key tourism projects in tandem with actively creating the most favourable possible conditions for investors to deploy large tourism product creation projects in the city in the time ahead.

Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son affirmed that this year is witnessing many opportunities and bright spots for the local tourism industry to step up recovery and ensure its growth target as well.

As revealed by Director of the municipal Tourism Department Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Da Nang eyes to attract about 3.5 million tourists staying at local accommodation establishments, three times higher than in 2021.

In detail, it targets 3.32 million domestic tourists and 180,000 foreign ones this year under one scenario and two million and 100,000 under the other.

Revenue from accommodation and travel services this year is estimated at more than VND 6,700 billion, up 2.6 times and 1.7 times as compared to 2021 and 2020 respectively.
