Promoting development and use of national digital platforms

The Ministry of Information and Communications issued Decision No. 186/QD-BTTTT dated February 11, 2022 approving the programme for national digital platforms development with a focus on promoting the development and use of national digital platforms for digital transformation and the promotion of e-government, digital economy and digital society.

The programme aims to, first and foremost, build an accommodative digital ecosystemthat basically meets the requirements of digital transformation and is widely used to create soft infrastructure for the development of e-Government, digital economy and digital society and for each industry and region.

In addition, it will bring together excellent and potential Vietnamese enterprises to focus on developing national digital platforms as the core to form networks of Vietnamese digital platform developers and digital transformation supporters from the national to grassroots levels.

The programme also facilitate the creation of some excellent Vietnamese digital platforms that can compete with popular international ones, dominate the domestic market, and then reach out to regional and global markets.

The programme sets out 5 groups of tasks and solutions for implementation, namely making an action plan to develop the national digital platform, promote the use of national digital platforms, conducting the assessment, recognition and announcement of satisfactory national digital platforms, enhancing dissemination of national digital platforms, and building and operating the National Digital Platform Portal.

National digital platforms are divided into 2 groups.

One is the national digital platform managed by State agencies, developed by Vietnamese enterprises, mastering core technologies, being used uniformly across the country, and serving  management activities or providing public services for society. Such platforms included government cloud computing, digital addresses, digital maps, data integration and sharing.

The other is national digital platform managed by enterprises, mastering core technologies, providing services to serve the needs of agencies, businesses and society with such platforms as enterprise cloud computing, artificial intelligence, IoT devices and new generation virtual meetings.
