Da Nang launches incentives and programs to welcome tourists

Da Nang has prepared itself for the return of international tourists with the development of new tourism products and the launch of incentive programs after Viet Nam fully reopened to international tourists on March 15.

Resuming international routes from the city

Apart from resuming air services on the 8 existing domestic routes, Da Nang is currently trying to re-open international flights to destinations around the world in the near future. Specifically, on March 27, two flights from Singapore and Bangkok, the Thai capital, will land at the Da Nang International Airport, marking the official resumption of international routes from the city after two years of disruption due to Covid-19.

After these two flights, there will be continuous international flights to Da Nang in the coming time. Vietnam Airlines will operate flights between Singapore and Da Nang from April 15 with the frequency of 3 flights a week. Singapore Airlines will start flying directly to Da Nang five times a week from March 27. Jetstar Asia Airways will fly to the city twice a week from April 10. Seven flights per week will be operated by Vietjet Air from June 16.

Starting from March 27, Thai Vietjet Air will fly three times a week on the Bangkok - Da Nang route. Thai Air Asia will fly directly to Da Nang from Don Mueang International Airport seven times a week from April 1. Flights between Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia (Malaysia) and Da Nang will be operated by Air Asia four times a week from April 1.

Two flights per week will be operated by Jin Air on the Incheon (South Korea) - Da Nang route from April 1. Jeju Air will fly directly to Da Nang seven times a week from May 1. International flights will be operated by Vietjet Air three times a week from April 28 while flights will be operated by Vietnam Airlines seven times a week from April 1. Vietjet Air will fly four times a week between Tokyo, the capital of Japan and Da Nang from May 19 while three flights per week will be operated by Vietnam Airlines on the Narita (Japan) - Da Nang route from July 1.

Especially, Vietjet Air will officially launch its new direct Delhi (India) - Da Nang flights in September 2022 in order to bring tourists from this new international tourism market to the Vietnamese central city.

The resumption of international flights to Da Nang contributes to creating the most favourable conditions for tourists, businesses and investors to visit the city to explore its beauty or seek investment opportunities here, as well as reconnecting Da Nang with destinations worldwide, and driving the recovery of the city’s tourism industry and its socio-economy after more than 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Making tourism products ready for tourists

Da Nang has made thoughtful preparation for the return of domestic and international tourists. Specifically, the Da Nang government has adopted flexible adaptation pathway approaches to tourism recovery and COVID-19 control in the new normal during COVID-19.

Da Nang has taken proactive steps to convey its message to tourists to say that Da Nang is ready to open its doors to them. The tourism industry has prepared itself for the return of domestic and foreign guests through making qualified human resources, high quality services, and new products available to tourists as well as ensuring security and safety for them, and increasing marketing campaigns to promote the city as an attractive travel destination.

Mrs Huynh Thi Huong Lan, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre said that new tourism products and services are being launched to encourage more visits to the city. These products include night-time entertainment activities along the My An Beach, the first phase of Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi Bridge - Tran Hung Dao pedestrian route, the Water Park 365 entertainment complex at the 100 million US$ Da Nang – Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa, agritourism in Hoa Vang District. In addition, the upgrade and development of new items at Sun World Ba Na Hills, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park and other tourist attractions in the city along with the launch of promotional programs aim to attract more visitors. Moreover, Da Nang will host numerous international-level events on culture, tourism and sports. Included are Routes Asia that will take place in Viet Nam for the first time in 2022, with Da Nang People’s Committee, Da Nang Department of Tourism and IPP Travel Retail being selected as the hosts of the 16th annual route development forum, plus the 2022 Asian Golf Tournament, and tourism stimulus programs to be launched in April and June this year.

In particular, the campaign named "Enjoy Da Nang - Explore Da Nang" under the slogan of "Da Nang is bustling with many incentives" that will be divided into 2 phases will be launched from April 1 to August 15. Besides, great vacation packages will be offered to tourists, including Free and Easy packages worth VND 1.99 million each, healing and healthcare packages, nature tour package.

Many tourist sites across Da Nang have already reopened its doors to the public. Starting from March 18 until further notice, Sun World Ba Na Hills which is a must-visit resort and recreational complex in Da Nang will welcome visitors back on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with the return of exciting street mini shows, promising surprises for visitors. The resort is offering great deals on its services until April 24. Accordingly, visitors who buy one cable car ticket at this resort will get one free lunch buffet promo. Entry tickets will be sold at VND 550,000 per adult and VND 450,000 per child over 1m tall for people who are permanent residents in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province while VND 750,000 VND per adult and VND 600,000 VND per child will be applied to visitors from other parts of the country. Especially, children under 1m tall will enjoy free admission at this resort.
