Da Nang - Ly Son waterway tourism route to be put into operation on Mar. 29
The Phu Quoc High Speed Boat Joint Stock Company (PHUQUOC EXPRESS) is expected to launch an inland waterway tourist route connecting Da Nang with the Ly Son Island off the central procince of Quang Ngai on March 29. The information was released at the Tuesday meeting on developing inland waterway tourism in the city. Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son asked relevant local agencies to implement related procedures and worth with PHUQUOC EXPRESS to put the new service into operation on March 29.
As also scheduled, the K20 wharf on the Co Co River will be pronounced as an inland waterway wharf on March 29, whilst waterway tourist trips departing from the CT.15 wharf on the Son Tra Peninsula will be put into operation.
Embankments along the Cu De River will be constructed in order to facilitate the development of inland waterway tourism trips to the Nam Yen Village, Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District in tandem with serving rescue and disaster prevention missions.
Likewise, tourists trips along the Cam Le and Tuy Loan rivers, especially along-the-both-bank tourism products wharfs, will be further promoted. The local authorities will release specific instructions on the eligible size of tourist boats for potential trip operators.
As reported by the Department of Tourism, the city now houses 10 enterprises operating water-borne tourism service with 28 newly- built ships with a total capacity of more than 2,000 seats, meeting the standards of serving tourists.
Over the past time, about 95% of the total waterway tourists in Da Nang have mainly joined trips operating on the Han River Port -Tran Thi Ly Bridge route, whilst the remainder took the Han River Port - Hon Chao route.
Till date, the city has completed the construction of 4 inland waterway terminals, namely CT.15, K20, Thai Lai, and Tuy Loan. For the rest of 2022 and 2023, the city plans to construct and upgrade 10 ones.
