Da Nang to host activities to welcome reopening of international routes

On March 27, it is expected that the first two international routes to Da Nang in 2022 will be resumed after a temporary halt due the COVID-19 impacts. This much-awaited event marks an important milestone for the city's tourism industry in temping international visitors back.  In an initiative manner, the tourism industry has also taken many activities to welcome the resumption of international flights.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, Singapore - Da Nang operated by Singapore Airlines and Bangkok (Thailand)- Da Nang by Thai Vietjet are slated to reopen on March 27.

In the morning of March 27, jointly organised by the Department of Tourism and Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), three programmes will take place at the Da Nang airport’s international terminal, including ceremonies to resume international air services at 8:00a.m, and welcome the flights from Singapore and Bangkok at 11:00a.m. and at 11:30a.m., respectively.

It is known that passengers onboard the flight from Singapore are members of the delegation of Informa Routes, the organiser of the Routes Asia 2022.

These guests will stay to Da Nang from March 27 to April 4 to survey the service infrastructure for the Routes Asia 2022 forum.

It is expected that the Informa Routes delegation will participate in a press conference to introduce the forum, meet with representative AHT the Department of Tourism and AHT and Da Nang tourism businesses to discuss preparations for the forum.

Meanwhile, the flight from Bangkok will bring a Thai famtrip group of many people who are representatives of tour companies and major Thai press agencies to Da Nang from March 27 to 30.

The Famtrip group will survey tourism products, attractions, and tourism service facilities in Da Nang such as Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, Linh Ung Pagoda, Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge and Han Market, as well as neighbouring Hoi An ancient town in Quang Nam Province, and Lang Co, Hue Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda in Thua Thien- Hue Province to promote the tourism industry of the central regions in the Thai media.

As part of the celebrations for the resumption of international flights in Da Nang, an amazing air balloon festival which featues 12 multi-coloured mini balloons, 3 level 7 balloons and 2 steam balloons will take place on March 27.

Co-organised by AHT, the municipal Department of Tourism, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, and Singapore Airlines, the Hot Air Balloon Festival offered a chance to both locals and visitors to take scenic hot air balloon rides over beautiful Da Nang at sky adventures within set time frames.

Besides, visitors to Da Nang on March 27 have the opportunity to take stunning shots of colourful hot air balloons which will fly over the APEC Sculture Garden located on Bach Dang Street.

Accordingly, they will also watch hot air balloons brighten up the atmosphere of the city with the colorful Hot Air Balloon Paper Lantern Set between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on the same day.

Interestingly, the hot air balloon festival will be also attended by Miss World Viet Nam 2019 Luong Thuy Linh who represented the country in Miss World 2019 in the UK, MC Minh Quan Bui, Travel Blogger Son Doan, and Da Nang Miss Tourism 2022 Tran Nguyen Minh Thu.

Accounting to, Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center Nguyen Thi Hoai An, the resumption of international flights is very important for Da Nang's tourism industry.

To accompany with airlines in the resumption of routes, contribute to the restoration of tourism activities, and promote trade, investment and cultural exchanges among Singapore, Thailand and Da Nang (Viet Nam), the city will organise welcoming activities, present flowers and gifts to the first international guests on the two aforementioned flights to Da Nang right at the airport, creating a vibrant and bustling atmosphere here.

In addition, in the near future, many other international routes will also be back into operation.
In April, the tourism industry will launch more incentive programms and stimulus packages for guest markets, not only attracting international tourists but also domestic tourists in the upcoming peak season.
