International Women's Day flower prices slightly increase
Flower market in Da Nang for International Women’s Day (March 8) has been busier than usual in recent days although the purchasing power remains quite low and the prices of fresh flowers have increased slightly compared to normal days.

According to surveys conducted at fresh flower dealers in the Han Market, the prices of fresh flowers in these days leading up to International Women’s Day have increased by 10-20% compared to previous days.
Specifically, Da Lat roses are on sale at the prices of VND45,000 /dozen, carnations at VND50,000/bundle, gerbera flowers at VND45,000/bundle, heath bell flowers at VND30,000/bundle, tana chrysanthemums at VND120,000/bundle, and royal daisies at VND110,000/bundle.
According to Mrs. Khanh Doan, the owner of the Thanh Doan fresh flower shop on Pham Phu Thu Street, the prices of fresh flowers have only increased slightly when approaching International Women's Day. In previous years, fresh flower prices often doubled or tripled the usual costs.
As observed at fresh flower shops citywide, small baskets of fresh flowers cost from VND300,000 - VND1 million each, whilst fresh flower baskets with many kinds of imported flowers are being offered at the prices of VND2 million - VND5 million each. The retail prices of imported roses range from VND20,000 - VND50,000/ apiece depending on their types.
According to flower sellers on such major streets as Tran Phu, and Ngu Hanh Son (in front of the Da Nang University of Economics), March 7 and 8 March will be the best-selling time for fresh flowers.
