The Directorate for Roads has just proposed the Ministry of Transport a proposal to upgrade a section of the National Highway 14B that runs through Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District during the 2022 – 2025 period at a cost of VND800 billion funded by the national and municipal budgets.

As planned, the section running through Hoa Vang District, with a total length of about 7.5 km, will be upgraded according to the scale of the 6-lane urban trunk road with a design speed of 80km/h, and a roadbed width of 34m.

The starting point of the project is at Km24+633 at the Tuy Loan intersection, also known as the beginning point of the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway, whilst its ending point is at Km32+185.09, both within Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District.

The National Highway 14B has a total length of more than 73 km, more than 32km in length stretches through Da Nang, of which the section from the Tien Sa Port to the Tuy Loan intersection has been upgraded and expanded to 4 lanes. However, the remaining 7.5 km section as above-mentioned (from Km24+633 - Km32+185) has now only a 2-lane road surface scale, thus creating ‘a bottleneck’ adversely affecting traffic order and safety.

Therefore, the expansion of the 7.5 km section meets the travel demand and regional connectivity of the whole route as well as improve traffic safety.
