The Da Nang Management Board for Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Investment Projects, in coordination with SEEN Technologies Corporation and the Sai Gon Transportation Mechanical Corporation - One Member Co., Ltd Saigon Transport Mechanics One Member Co., Ltd. deployed to testing of equipment and technologies upon their installation at a garbage transfer station on Le Thanh Nghi Street, Hai Chau District.

The conveyor and bulky garbage crushing system is seen operating. The crushed garbage is later loaded onto dump trucks for transportation into the garbage compaction system.

The garbage transfer station has been upgraded with the application of modern and environmentally- friendly technologies with a total investment of about VND171 billion, covering an area of 3,000m², of which 1,373m² is set for green-covered areas.

The station has the main function of gathering and pressing households-discharged and bulky waste into containers by means of closed horizontal pressing technology without garbage treatment and then transporting it to the Khanh Son Solid Waste Treatment Complex for treatment according to the regulations.

The whole process of garbage pressing takes place in an enclosed space whilst unpleasant odours, leachate and car wash waste water are completely controlled.

The trial deployment of advanced equipment and means at the new station aims to optimize operating procedures, thereby ensuring the environment, before its full operation in the coming time.

The operation of such a garbage transfer station helps enhance the capacity of garbage collection, and reduce on-street makeshift dumps.
