Da Nang - an attractive destination for travellers over forthcoming holiday

Da Nang expects to see a surge in tourist numbers over the forthcoming 4-day break for the National Reunification Day (April 30) and Labour Day (May 1) holidays.

600 flights expected to arrive in Da Nang

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, airlines have added more flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi to Da Nang in order to meet the growing travel demand of tourists.

Between April 27 and May 3, about 600 domestic and international flights are likely to land at Da Nang International Airport. Of which, there will be 18 international flights from Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok), and South Korea (Incheon).

It is expected that the room occupancy rate at 4 to 5-star hotels will reach at about 70-75% over the forthcoming public holiday.

Many seaside tourist resorts and hotels along Vo Nguyen Giap Street have room occupancy rate of more than 90% and do not accept additional bookings.

Meanwhile, the room occupancy rates at some 4 to 5-star hotels in such downtown streets as Bach Dang, February 3, and Nguyen Van Linh is about 50%, and at 3-star hotels at 30-40%.

In order to provide the best services for visitors and leave the city’s deep impression on them, local State departments and agencies, and localities have developed a number of detailed plans to ensure urban order, traffic safety and beauty of urban landscapes in the city during peak periods.

Moreover, a wide array of fascinating events will be organised across the city. Included will be the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season 2022 from April 28 to May 3, the opening ceremony of the nighttime entertainment activities along the My An beach in Ngu Hanh Son District, street arts shows at the Tien Son Sports Arena and Bach Dang Square.

The admission fee waiver is being applied at such popular tourist attractions as the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Museum of Da Nang, the Fine Arts Museum and the Museum of Cham Sculpture until December 31.

Visitors to the Museum of Da Nang on April 29 and 30 will have the opportunity to experience a walking tour entitled ‘Following the footsteps of the liberation army’.

An arts exhibition themed ‘Convergence of colors’ is scheduled to be organised at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum from April 27 - May 20.

On this holiday, some tourist attractions in the city plan to organize many attractive programmes to serve visitors.

In particular, visitors to the Sun World Ba Na Hills will have the opportunity to experience a mountain-climbing railway that is nearly 430 metres long, participate in the Food and Beer Festival (B'estival) 2022, and enjoy an arts show entitled ‘The Battle of the Moon Kingdom’ to be performed by more than 160 international artists.

Moreover, the Sun World Ba Na Hills will introduce a new project Grand Cascade with more than 40 golden statues, promising to surprise visitors on the occasion of April 30 to May 1.

Meanwhile, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park will organise a lucky spin programme themed ‘Celebrating Big Holiday, Giving Nice Gifts’ for all visitors. In addition, the Phuong Hoang restaurant specialising in serving hot pots and grill buffet, and a ‘Forest of love’ 4-season swimming pool, will be open to the public at the tourist site.

The Asia Park will officially reopen its doors to the public from April 30. Visitors will enjoy lion and dragon dances, food stalls and musical programmes on weekend evenings.

The helicopter tour ‘Danang Heli Tours’ from April 30 to July 31 will bring the unique and exciting experience to visitors.

Tourists to Da Nang on this holiday will have a chance to enjoy a 50% discount on tickets  for the Ao Dai Show Da Nang which is slated for May 1 - 30 at the Ngu Hanh Son District’s Cultural House.

The Helio Centre entertainment complex on the southeastern side of the city's September 2 Street reopens to the public from April 29 with many exciting entertainment events and impressive check-in areas.

Shows of fire breathing and water squirting at the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge will be taken place from April 30 - May 3 at 9.00pm daily in order to meet the growing entertainment needs of locals and visitors.

Besides, there will be a number of interesting cultural and arts programmes along both banks of the Han River.

More passenger transport services  added

According to Mrs. Le Thi Tuyen from the city’s Railway Station, in these days leading to the holiday of April 30 and May 1, a daily average of 500 train tickets are being sold. From April 29 to May 2, there will be about 8,000 visitors leaving and arriving in Da Nang.

Aside from pairs of trains SE21/22 running on the Da Nang - HCMC route and SE 19/20 on the Da Nang - Ha Noi route, the city’s Railway Station has added more train cars and seats to serve the increasing needs of passengers.

Meanwhile, Mr. Pham Loi, General Director of the Da Nang-based Transport and Bus Station Management JSC, has asked passenger transport service providers to increase about 30% of the number of vehicles to meet the growing travel demand of people over the upcoming public holiday.

Mr. Phan Kieu Hung, Deputy Director of the Da Nang International Airport, informed that on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 holiday, his unit planned 168-180 domestic flights and16-20 international flights per day.

In addition, the units closely coordinate with police forces and traffic inspectors to maintain and strictly handle violations of order security and traffic safety in the city.
