The An Thuong Tourist Streets complex connecting night-time entertainment activities along the My An Beach in My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang, was officially inaugurated on Thursday evening.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet made his attendance at the event.

The opening of the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex and night-time entertainment activities along the My An Beach is expected to give a facelift to the city’s tourism industry, thus making the city more attractive to holidaymakers from both home and aboard.

An Thuong and My An areas become very familiar with foreign tourists. From that fact, on January 31, 2018, the municipal government gave a nod to implement the An Thuong Tourist Streets project during the 2019 - 2025 period. The project is divided into three stages with a focus on upgrading tourism services and urban infrastructure.

During the first stage of the project, more than VND9 billion funding from the city’s budget went to upgrade An Thuong 1 and An Thuong 4 streets, whilst over VND48 billion for An Thuong 2, An Thuong 3, Hoang Ke Viem, Le Quang Dao, Tran Bach Dang, Ngo Thi Si and Vo Nguyen Giap. Currently, the construction units have basically completed the main items to serve the sightseeing needs of tourists.

The second stage of the project focuses on from Le Quang Dao to Chau Thi Vinh Te, and the third stage from Le Quang Dao to Nguyen Van Thoai. However, the implementation of the two stages is behind the schedule due to the impact of the pandemic.

Over the past time, the Ngu Hanh Son District authorities have accelerated the renovation of tourist routes and the upgrade of urban infrastructure in the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex.

Heed has been on paving pavements with stones, building a walking garden campus, making arts lighting decorations at the Hoang Ke Viem - Vo Nguyen Giap intersection and the welcome gate at the Ngo Thi Si - Vo Nguyen Giap intersection, installing mobile service stalls, and organising street music programmes.

The Ngu Hanh Son District government has also encouraged family-run businesses operating in the An Thuong tourist area to urgently renovate the landscape and conduct environmental cleanups to be ready for welcoming travellers back.

Also at the inauguration ceremony, the organisers launched a social order and commercial civilisation self-management team, and a youth volunteer team, in the An Thuong Tourist Streets.

Right after the opening ceremony of the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex connecting night-time entertainment activities along the My An Beach, the Street Dance programme, which was jointly organised by the Da Nang College of Culture and Arts and relevant units, drew much attention from a lot of locals and tourists.
