On Tuesday, the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology held a workshop at the headquarters of the Hoa Hiep Nam Ward People’s Committee to deploy the project on registration for protection, management and development of geographical indications for the Nam O fish sauce.

The project will be carried out from April 2022 - September 2024.

Under the project, the Department will focus on preparing for necessary dossiers for the geographical indication registration for the Nam O fish sauce according to national regulations; and building identification system and tools for promoting, communicating and introducing products protected by geographical indications.

Importance will be attached to establishing production chains, and managing and developing products according to value chains associated with traceability and product quality management.

Greater efforts will be made to promote, introduce and connect consumption markets for fish sauce products bearing the geographical indication "Nam O".
