The US Food and Beverage Exhibition took place in Da Nang on Friday.

Co-hosted by the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) under the US Department of Agriculture and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Da Nang, the event aimed to introduce American products to the Da Nang business community.

In attendance at the exhibition were US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc Knapper, and Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh.

The event attracted the participation of 21 units who were the Agricultural Association under the US Department of Agriculture, and representatives of agricultural product distributors and manufacturers in the USA.

On display at the event were a variety of US products, including beef, pork, chicken, seafood, potatoes, cheese, raisins, beans, soy products, apples, blueberries, ginsengs, popcorns, pecans, wine and whiskey.

In his remarks at the exhibition, Agricultural Counselor of the US Embassy Robert Hanson said that the exhibition provided an opportunity to bring US food closer to Da Nang in the context of post-pandemic international tourism recovery.

Within the framework of the exhibition, the US Embassy introduced the ‘United Tastes’ digital marketing campaign with the aim of connecting and inspiring Vietnamese consumers about high quality, safe and healthy US products.

Viet Nam is currently the 8th largest export market for US food and agricultural products, while the USA is Viet Nam's largest export market.

The trade turnover of agricultural goods between Viet Nam and the USA has more than doubled over the past decade, from US$4 billion in 2011 to US$9 billion in 2021.

Ambassador Marc Knapper affirmed that the growth of bilateral trade turnover of agricultural goods showcased the growing economic and trade relationship between the United States and Viet Nam.
