The opening of the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex connected to nighttime tourism activities and services along the My An Beach in Ngu Hanh Son District is expected to awaken the potential of nighttime tourism in Da Nang, which has long been considered to be quite monotonous.

In September 2020, the Da Nang government issued a night-time economic development project. Accordingly, the project will be piloted in 2021 and will be completed by 2025.

Under the project, Da Nang will develop a series of new and special tourism products such as the An Thuong Tourist Street complex, the Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao pedestrian promenade widened to Nhu Nguyet Street, the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa coastal route, and Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal street in order to build the city’s brand name of ‘Da Nang Night’.

However, due to the impact of COVID-19, up to now, this project is still in the starting stage.

In late April, the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex connected to nighttime tourism activities and services along the My An Beach was put into operation, forming a chain of sea-based entertainment services.

Chairman of the Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee Nguyen Hoa said that the An Thuong Tourist Street complex was one of the projects to stimulate tourism and service demand in the city.

He added this was also an opportunity to promote and supplement new tourism products and services in this complex so as to satisfy the needs for nighttime economic activities of the city's tourism industry.

Accordingly, 850m-long Ngo Thi Si, 170m-long Vo Nguyen Giap, 850m-long Hoang Ke Viem, Tran Bach Dang and An Thuong 2 streets in My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District were exploited for tourism.

Over the past time, the Ngu Hanh Son District authorities have accelerated the renovation of tourist routes and the upgrade of urban infrastructure in the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex.

Heed has been on paving pavements with stones, building a walking garden campus, making arts lighting decorations at the Hoang Ke Viem - Vo Nguyen Giap intersection and the welcome gate at the Ngo Thi Si - Vo Nguyen Giap intersection, installing mobile service stalls, and organising street music programmes.

Along with tourism stimulus activities, the nightlife area will feature a combination of entertainment, and beach sports activities at the Danabeach located on Vo Nguyen Giap Street which is gradually becoming a popular destination for the locals and tourists, especially young people.

Visitors to the area will have the opportunity to experience many new and fascinating services such as dining, karaoke, check-in area with colorful chairs and umbrellas. Also, there will be many vibrant outdoor music programmes.

Pham Tuyet Lan from Ho Chi Minh City underlined the importance of the opening of nighttime tourism services at the My An Beach in satisfying the diverse demands of tourists from both home and abroad and helping Da Nang expand its nighttime economic activities.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, remarked the pilot formation of night-time tourism products and services along the My An beach, connected to the bustling An Thuong tourist streets complex was within the framework of the municipal administration - adopted nighttime economic development project.

The much-awaited project aims to effectively tap the city’s great tourism development advantages and potential, thus creating new attractive tourism products that can be on par with those in other Vietnamese destinations

Visitors can conveniently explore cultural products and local cuisine at the An Thuong Tourist Streets complex, then experience nighttime tourism activities products at the My An Beach and vice versa.

In addition, there are some attractive nighttime entertainment activities along the My An beach in Ngu Hanh Son District, including mobile food service carts, movie screening services on the beach, nighttime arts performances, and therapeutic massage services.

Moreover, a number of highly-inviting programmes are organised along the My An beach, such as Beach Dancers, Team building, campfire, Showmanship Bartender, and DJ - music.

Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that the opening of night-time tourism products and services along the My An beach, connected to the bustling An Thuong tourist streets complex promised to bring visitors new experience. The city wants to create more unique and new tourism products in the coming time in order to bring interesting experiences to visitors when coming to Da Nang this summer.
