The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has just asked the authorities of centrally-governed cities and provinces to map out plans for the connection of local roads with expressways.

Currently, the Ministry of Transport is implementing expressway projects according to the Road Network Plan for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050, approved by the Prime Minister.

In particular, for the project of the North-South expressway to the east in the 2021 - 2025 period, relevant agencies are urgently completing procedures to approve the project’s feasibility study report before June 30, 2022.

The Ministry of Transport proposed the administration of cities and provinces through which expresses and highways passing adjust local traffic planning to effectively connect their transport networks, urban areas and economic zones with the North - South expressway to the east and other highways.

The aim is to strengthen the local transport network and inter-regional connection and well exploit the potential strengths of the expressways, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the Vietnamese localities.
