According to a recently-conducted survey of construction material prices at stores and businesses across Da Nang, the price steel has decreased but that of cement increased sharply.

Specifically, after 3 consecutive price reductions in May, the prices of steel brands such as Hoa Phat, Viet Duc, VAS and Pomina have ranged from VND17,200 - VND18,060/kg, depending on coil or rebar.

The above-mentioned prices are much lower than the record of VND19,000 - VND19,600/kg set for coil or rebar steel in mid-April 2022.

Since the start of 2022, the domestic construction steel price has undergone 10 adjustments with 7 ups and 3 downs.

While steel prices has fallen sharply, the prices of cement products such as Vicem Bim Son and Vicem Hoang Thach have gone up by VND55,000 - VND80,000/tonnes as compared to the beginning of May, 2022, depending on the type and brand of cement.

The aforementioned hike is the second adjustment to increase the prices made by cement enterprises in 2022.

Previously, the first price adjustment phase at the end of March, the costs of cement climbed up from VND100,000 - VND150,000/tonnes, depending on product types.
