During his meeting with the Da Nang Department of Tourism on Wednesday afternoon, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son highlighted huge efforts the tourism sector, relevant agencies and authorities at local level have made to ensure the safety and security of tourists during peak tourism season. Till date, the city’s tourism activities have almost returned to pre-pandemic levels, contributing greatly to the overall growth of the city.

Vice Chairman Son urged local relevant agencies to continue their efforts to improve the quality of dedicated spaces to walk and nigh-time services along the My An Beach plus diversify tourism products, as well as make good preparations for events within the framework of the Enjoy Danang Summer Festival 2022, and the Asian Golf Tournament to be held in in September in efforts to make the city more inviting to tourists at both home and abroad.

The city leader also called on the municipal Department of Tourism and the functional bodies to take the drastic and synchronous actions to stop the harassment of tourists, as well as deal with itinerant beggars and street vendors. The heed should be paid to setting up hotlines  to receive complaints and reports from local citizens and tourists on such problems in order to enable quick actions to be taken to handle them. Special attention should be given to creating more theme parks, developing new products, and organise a wide range of festivals across Da Nang in an attempt to increase tourist arrivals in the city.

According to municipal Department of Tourism Director Truong Thi Hong Hanh, , Da Nang has welcomed about 3.7 million domestic and international visitors since the beginning of 2022. In July alone, the Da Nang Airport daily hosted close to 127 flights on peak days. The city saw an increase of 15-20% in the number of domestic passengers in this summer compared with the peak season in 2019.
