The International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade and Tourism Fair 2022 will take place from August 3 to 8 at the International Exhibition Fair Centre, 9 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Da Nang. It will open daily at 8:30 am and close at 10:00 pm.

The event will feature 26 booths of 8 foreign businesses and 393 others of 227 domestic businesses. This year’s fair will see an increase of 36% in the number of participating Vietnamese localities and a rise of 40% in the number of businesses participating in the fair for the first time, compared to 2020.

In particular, the number of businesses from the South and Central parts of Laos registered for this year’s event is higher than in previous years as 2022 marks the 60th anniversary celebration of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Laos and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries. In addition, recent working visits by Da Nang leaders and representatives of the Municipal Department of Industry and Trade to the central and southern localities of Laos have led to a higher number of participants from such localities in this year’s fair.

The event will showcase various tourism, trade and investment products such as electrical, electronic and IT products, processed food, wood products, home accessories, leather footwear, apparel, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, along with restaurant and hotel services.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be various activities to provide practical support to participating businesses. Included are a forum on boosting the development of logistics service on EWEC, a festival to introduce Quang Nam Province’s One Commune-One Product (OCOP), a seminar to seek best ways to remove difficulties in rural industrial establishments during and after COVID-19, and a conference of connecting supply and demand of goods between Da Nang and other parts of the country.
