The Da Nang Lighting Association in collaboration with the Da Nang Union of Science and Technology Associations on Thursday held a scientific seminar  on ‘Smart lighting in smart cities in the era of industrial revolution 4.0’.

At the event, participants had access to information through presentations on smart lighting overviews, Smart City trends and Smart Lighting in Smart Cities.

According to Mr. Pham Tai, Chairman of the Da Nang Lighting Association, at present, building smart city is becoming a trend in the world. Viet Nam, as well as Da Nang in particular, is initially approaching.

In the process of learning from previous countries, Viet Nam has many opportunities to change and promote many international cooperation programmes in the field of lighting.

The deployment of smart lighting solutions will contribute to saving energy, reducing CO₂ emissions, protecting the environment, and contributing to sustainable urban development.

Particularly, the automation of the public lighting system contributes to ensuring security, order and social safety, and developing a green and modern city.

In Da Nang, smart lighting solutions are being approached initially and the city is currently piloting a control centre project and digitising lighting infrastructure data to gradually improve quality of urban public services.
