The Son La Safe Agricultural Product, Tourism and Trade Week officially opened in Da Nang on Friday, aiming to promote the province’s specialties in the central city.

The event was jointly organised by the Son La Provincial People's Committee and the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong hoped that, through the week, many contracts on trade, tourism, processing, preliminary processing, packaging and consumption of local products would be signed between the province and its partners at both home and abroad.

The event, which is taking place at a park near the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge from July 15-18, attracts 12 local enterprises and cooperatives with 24 booths.

Products on display during the event include OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, agricultural products meeting VietGAP food safety certification, and tourist destinations.

Also, the programme features trade promotion activities in tourism, the establishment of the province’s agricultural product consumption points in a number of localities, the implementation of plans to consume and export the province’s key products, especially mangoes and longans, cooperation activities and the development of high-quality tourism services.
