The Da Nang Mechanical Association has gathered over 500 members, including many leading scientists, engineers, and well-training workers, who have dedicated their passion, strength and intelligence to mechanical engineering. Many scientific research projects and scientific and technical applications have been put into production practice, creating momentum and leverage for the development of the mechanical industry of Da Nang.

Remarkable scientific and technological research and applications

Over the past 5 years of development, the Da Nang Mechanics Association has overcome difficulties in terms of production space, capital, technology, unstable market, and the COVID-19 pandemic to stabilize production and improve worker income, contributing to the local economic growth. Additionally, scientific research and application of scientific advances have taken place excitingly with numerous novel products for economic development, security and defence.

As the result, The results of the implementation of 6 key tasks of the 5th-tenure Mechanics Association, term 2015-2020 have gained a series of proud achievements through awards from the Technical Innovation Contest, Vietnam Gold Star, Vifotec, the annual exhibition of the central and local organization. In addition, the University of Technology and Education- the University of Danang has successfully designed and manufactured technological products for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also, some local mechanical products such as pipe winding machines with thicknesses up to 80mm, lifting platforms of 1,600 tons, and specialized ships of all kinds, have state-of-the-art industrial designs, high quality, higher automation levels, and better accuracy, bringing high economic efficiency to enterprises
Some branches of the Association have conducted many scientific research projects, and initiatives to improve the technique of manufacturing cost-saving equipment, helping to reduce costs to serve in the process of production and business.

According to Deputy Director of the  Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Thuy Mai, the development orientation of the city meets that of the country in continuing to identify mechanical engineering as a foundation industry that needs to be prioritized for development in the coming period. This is the proper time for the city's mechanical industry to create competitiveness in the market mechanism and international economic integration.

Promoting the role of the Association as a driving force for the development of the mechanical industry
Da Nang Mechanical Association has determined that tasks for the term 2022-2027 must really facilitate and support members in joint venture cooperation in the production and business process as well as in new investment projects. It is necessary to enhance the role of the mechanical industry in digital technology, embrace new technologies, exploit internal resources, be creative and dynamic to better meet the demands of the economy's development, actively participate in emulation movements, and complete the tasks of the annual plan.

At the same time, the Association has actively participated in consulting and criticizing activities on science - technology, economy - society in the field of mechanical engineering for enterprises, Party and State agencies, and other municipal sectors.

The two key tasks of the association's five missions are to promote scientific research and the application of technical advances and to develop mechanical products. Specifically, it is necessary to propose research topics, application of technical advances, and new investment projects, to combine applied research contents to solve difficulties in actual production and business with the highest efficiency, and to take measures to bring effective topics, projects, works and solutions into production and business.

Regarding the development of new mechanical products, investment programs will be implemented to renew technological equipment, actively integrate, and create the basis for the economic restructuring towards the Fourth Industrial revolution.

Additionally, there is a need to increase the proportion of mechanical industry development towards serving deep processing industry, consumer goods industry, export goods and other industries, to do research and manufacture mechanical products for dynamics, mechanics for shipbuilding,  electricity industry, processing agricultural, forestry, fishery products, and medical equipment, and continue to invest in developing new products with opportunities to increase output and market share regionally and nationally.
