The total retail sales of consumer goods and services in August was estimated at approximately VND11,034 billion, up by 4.1% over the previous month and by 200.1% over the same period in 2021, according to the Da Nang Statistics Department.

In the first 8 months of the year, the total retail sales of consumer goods and services hit an estimate of VND70,676 billion, a rise of 37.4% over the same period in 2021.

In the field of merchandise trade, the city's total revenue from retail sales of goods and services in August surpassed VND5,882 billion, an increase of 4.3% over the previous month and 96.3% over the same period last year.

In which, retail sales from domestic supermarket chains hit an estimate of VND292 billion, up by 6.3% against July, and 101.5% over the same period last year.

In August, 10 out of the 12 groups of retail products reported the high growth rate. Some groups of products with a large proportion recorded an increase which is higher than the general average, including food and foodstuffs and cars of all kinds.

For the wholesale of goods, in August, the total wholesale volume of goods was estimated at more than VND12,803 billion, down by 2.9% from the previous month and up by 70.2% over the same period last year.

As accumulated in the Jan. - Aug. period, the city’s total revenue from the total wholesale sales of goods reached an estimate of VND100,636 billion, up by 18.1% over the same period.
