Five Central Viet Nam airports close as typhoon Noru approaches; hundreds of flights cancelled
Five airports in Central Viet Nam are being temporarily closed till Wednesday due to concerns over the disruption of operations triggered by typhoon Noru, leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights to and from this region.

The Chu Lai Airport in Quang Nam Province is being closed from 7:00a.m. Tuesday to 7 :00 a.m. the following day.
The airports of Da Nang, Phu Bai, Phu Cat and Pleiku, located respectively in Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh and Gia Lai respectively are closed from 12:00p.m Tuesday to Wednesday noon.
In addition, flights to and from Vinh (Nghe An), Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen), Lien Khuong (Lam Dong), and Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) airports may need to be rescheduled and changes in the operation schedule will also impact some flights from other airports.
All Vietnamese carriers have encouraged travelers to look out for storm-related information so as to plan their journey.
Passengers on affected flights will be supported in accordance with the airline's service policy.
Previously, the Civil Aviation Administration of Viet Nam had a telegram requesting staff at the airports to be on duty around the clock, strictly implement the process of responding to storms and tropical depressions in civil aviation activities.
