The Da Nang Markets Development and Management Company has held ground-breaking ceremony of the Han Market renovation and upgrade project with a total investment of more than VND8.1 billion from the State budget.

Under the plan, the project includes such main work items as renovating the main cage house, building a new working house of the market management board; building a new fish restaurant, auxiliary facilities, welcome gate and other technical infrastructure works including water, power supply, lighting and drainage systems.

The upgrade work is expected to be completed within 100 days from the date of commencement.

Upon renovation, the Han Market will turn itself into a typical market that not only serve local shoppers but it also attract more tourists thanks to the combination of traditional, modern and civilised trading characteristics, and with food hygiene and safety and fire and explosion prevention ensured.

For the time being, there are about 800 stalls trading in diversified products, especially specialty items, processed foods and souvenirs  serving tourists.
