Year-end discounts on train fares
The Sai Gon Railway Transport JSC has announced a 30% discount on 4,600 tickets applied in November this year in a bid to stimulate travel demand.
Accordingly, discounted train tickets can be purchased from 8:00am on October 28 to the end of November 27, 2022, and should be bought at least three days before the departure date.
Reduced fares are fixed for specific carriages and seats on trains. This probably means that when passengers buy tickets on these fixed seats, they will receive a 30% discount on fares.
Specifically, passengers can buy discounted fares on trains SE3/SE4 and SE7/SE8 running at the beginning of the week with a distance of 400km or more , and on weekends with a distance of 500km or more.
Trains SE21/SE22 on the HCMC - Da Nang route with a distance of from 400km, trains SNT1/SNT2 running between HCMC and Nha Trang with a distance of from 250km, and trains SPT1/SPT2 travelling on the HCMC - Phan Thiet route with a distance of from 150km, are also offering discounted fares.
If passengers want to change or return the discounted tickets they have bought, they will be charged 30% of the price printed on the ticket.
Meanwhile, the Ha Noi Railway Transport JSC has announced that it is offering a preferential programme to reduce the prices of full-carriage and full-cabin tickets for trains running from November 1 to December 28, 2022.
Specifically, passengers who buy full 4-bed and 6-bed cabins, with air conditioning, will enjoy a 10% discount on ticket prices, whilst those who buy a full carriage will get a 15% discount on ticket prices.
