Encouragingly, tourism and domestic trade activities vibrantly took place, attracting a large number of domestic tourists and consumers to Da Nang for travelling and shopping experience.

The retail sales of goods in November was estimated at VND 5,844 billion, up 4.2% over the previous month and up 8.4% over the same period last year.

In particular, the retail sales recorded at local supermarkets was estimated at VND 306 billion, a jump of 4.8% over the previous month and a rise of 4.3% over the same period last year.

Also in comparison with the previous month, 12 retail industry groups all recorded growth. Among them, there were many groups with higher increase than the general growth rate such as other commodity groups up by approximately 7.0%; petrol and oil increased 5.3%; automobiles of all kinds 5.2%; other fuels (except petrol) 5.1%.

Besides, the continuous increased in world gasoline and oil prices during November made domestic gasoline prices climb by 19.41% from the same period in 2021.

As for the retail sales of goods, some commodity groups achieved an increase above the average growth rate such as: garments 37.7%; cultural and educational products 44.7%; gasoline, oil of all kinds 30.9%; precious stones, precious metals 51.5%.

* CPI in November up by 0.43%

The consumer price index (CPI) in November went by 0.43% as compared to the previous month, a rise of 8, 04% over the same period last year. Average CPI in the 11 months of 2022 went up by 3.95% over the same period in 2021.

The 8 commodity groups with a higher growth rate compared to the previous month were traffic with a rise of 2.5%; beverages and tobacco 0.84%; household appliances and appliances 0.39%; food and food service 0.38%; apparel, hats and footwear 0.33%; post and telecommunications 0.06%; housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials 0.03%; medicines and medical services 0.02%.

The 2 group of goods with a decrease in CPI are culture, entertainment and tourism down 0.15%, and other services 0.01%. Education, the remaining group, had a stable CPI.

Some reasons affecting the CPI in November were that gasoline prices were adjusted upward 3 times in November, causing the price index of kerosene group to increase by 7%, the general fuel group up by 5.55%.

In the market, some restaurants raised prices to ensure profits against the increase in prices of input materials used for processing. Also during the month, landlords applied new growing rents to cover costs due to high related costs.

However, the weather was more stable than last month, so the supply of goods was more abundant, which prompted the price of some food items to decrease as compared to the previous month, especially fruit and vegetables.
