Investment opportunities in AI in Da Nang
The development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Viet Nam and investment opportunities in AI in Da Nang was the central theme of a seminar which took place in Da Nang on Wednesday morning in both in-person and online forms.

The event was co-organised by the Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Department and the Aus4Innovation, a development assistance programme co-sponsored and co- managed by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO).
In her remarks at the opening ceremony of the seminar, Director of the Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Department Huynh Lien Phuong highlighted the purpose of the event was to promote the development of AI field as well as introduce investment opportunities in this field in Da Nang to the event attendees. This aims to build Da Nang into one of the bright spots in AI research, development and application in Central Viet Nam, and the whole country as a whole.
She hoped that the seminar will be an opportunity for scientists and businesses in Da Nang and their Australian partners in the field of AI to meet, connect and share experience.
Over the past time, Da Nang has implemented many programmes related to AI research, development and application. Included are plans to implement a project on a project on supporting the national innovation startup ecosystem by 2025, and a project on digital transformation in the city to 2025 with orientation to 2030, the issuance of e-government architecture of the city, intellectual property development programme to 2030, the application of AI technology to assist citizens and visitors to search for information and access public services in the most effective and convenient way, and the application of AI technology in health care, vehicle management, etc.
During the event, the participants listened to 9 presentations presented by delegates from the Department of High Technology and the = Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality both under Ministry of Science and Technology, the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, the University of Science and Technology - the University of Da Nang, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, the Australian National Center for Artificial Intelligence, the University of Queensland and the Griffith University.
These presentations focused on the bilateral cooperation between Australia and Viet Nam in hi-tech field, and the AI development potential in Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.
