Swiss businesses learn about investment environment in Da Nang

A group of representatives from 35 Swiss businesses, the Da Nang branch of the American Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam, and the Credit Suisse Bank, on Thursday, visited and learned about the investment environment at the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park.

Mr. Tran Van Ty, the Deputy Head of the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, briefed his guests on investment information, especially investment policies at the Hi-Tech Park, the Dedicated Information Technology Park and other industrial parks.

The Authority is committed to creating the best support for investors to deploy their projects.

Da Nang is now home to 6 industrial parks with a total area of ​​1,066 ha, the over 1,128 ha Hi-Tech Park, and the 131ha Dedicated Information Technology Park at the first stage. In addition, 4 new industrial parks, with a total area of ​​939.16 ha, are about to be constructed in the city.

Priority investment sectors include high-tech industry, information technology, supporting industries, and projects with modern, advanced and environmentally friendly technologies, and the effective use of natural resources, minerals and land. Currently, the city’s the Dedicated Information Technology Park attracts one Swiss-invested project.

According to Dr. Urs Buchmann, the Vice President of Credit Suisse Bank, the delegation was delighted to visit and learn about the investment environment in Da Nang, and realised that the city's Hi-Tech Park and industrial parks are very attractive to many foreign businesses.

He added, many Swiss enterprises specialising in high-tech industries showed their keen interest in procedures related to the tax system and legal procedures as well as necessary support for newly-invested businesses in the city.

Previously, the delegation learned about the actual operation of a number of businesses in the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and showed their impression on their operation scale and activities.
