Da Nang eyes GRDP growth rate of 6.5-7% in 2023

“Da Nang looks a GRDP growth rate of 6.5-7% in 2023”, said Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet at a meeting on Saturday on economic affairs and budget review.

As reported by Deputy Secretary Triet, over the past months of 2022, the city faced many difficulties and challenges. The city focused on ensuring COVID-19 prevention and control on track, and overcoming the heavy effects of the pandemic and floods.

Under the close and drastic direction of the municipal Party Committee and authorities at all levels, along with the great efforts made by agencies, units and city-dwellers as a whole, the socio-economic situation in 2022 recovered positively and achieved important and quite comprehensive results in all fields.

Deputy Secretary Triet forecast that, in 2023, the city's economic situation will still face many difficulties. However, the city still sets a goal of ensuring a strong business investment environment, with a focus on such key aspects as planning, investment, land, construction so that it can achieve a GRDP growth rate of 6.5% - 7% or more in 2023.

"The year 2023 is the middle year of the 2020-2025 term, it is proposed that the Da Nang People's Committee ensure the completion of the targets of the whole term, pay close attention and take strong measures to attract more investors, support businesses to access capital, strengthen public investment management, urban infrastructure planning, develop digital transformation, and implement e-government and smart city building projects”, emphasised Deputy Secretary Triet.
