A get-together for Da Nang-based businesses took place at the city’s Administrative Centre on Friday afternoon.

In his remarks at the event, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang briefed the attendees on the city's socio-economic situation in 2022. Particularly, the city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by more than 14% compared to 2021, and Da Nang ranked third in terms of GRDP growth among the 63 cities and provinces nationwide.
The rate of businesses resuming operations rose by 28.5%. Currently, the city is home to nearly 37,000 businesses with a total registered investment capital of more than VND240,000 billion. Notably, Da Nang has beenhonoured with many important awards voted by prestigious domestic and foreign organisations.
Secretary Quang attributed the aforementioned positive results to great efforts and contributions made by the local business community.
He reaffirmed that 2023 was identified as 'The year focuses on unleashing resources, attracting investment, maintaining economic growth and ensuring social welfare'. Therefore, he also highlighted that significance of the get-together of being an important step to concretise the year's theme, as well as recognise contributions and share with the business community about the city's orientations and expectations in 2023.
He emphassed that on November 3, 2022, the Politburo issued resolution regarding socio-economic development, and national defence and security assurance in the North Central and Central Coast regions until 2030, with a vision to 2045, in which, it is determined to build Da Nang into the hub of many important fields such as finance, innovation and specialised health.

The city Party chief took the opportunity to ask the local business community to boldly apply technology so as to increase labour productivity, improve governance and have strategic visions with specific steps.
“The city has issued a project to develop a start-up ecosystem, and a programme to develop supporting industries. It plans to develop a policy to encourage socialization in the coming time. We, therefore, hope that businesses will actively take advantage of these unique policies to develop business and investment activities” he added.
Mr. Quang also stressed the need for businesses to comply with the law, improve their roles and responsibilities in project implementation, and continue to uphold their social responsibility, towards a green economy. Heed should be on fully implementing the regime for employees, and ensuring sustainable development for businesses and local residents.
He underlined a must-do for business associations to promote the role of a bridge between businesses and State agencies, actively contributing to the city's mechanisms, policies, schemes and planning.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Secretary Quang sincerely thanked the local business community for their great contributions and efforts to the city’s growth over the past time.
