This event is held annually and is the largest scale of the Google’s Women Techmakers programme that provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology. Membership empowers women in their careers by providing access to curated resources and events, as well as information and tools from Google, our partners, and the global tech ecosystem.
Tran Thanh Hoai Van, the Community Team Leader of GDG in Central Viet Nam, said that the IT industry has more and more initiatives and programmes to help promote gender equality in this industry.
Although this is a good sign, women still face many prejudices and certain obstacles that women cannot specialise in technology and play the role of leadership and team management as well. There are still doubts about the achievements made by young women in IT enterprises.
With the theme ‘Dare to be’, Women Techmakers 2023 event introduced participants to bright examples and influential stories in which young women overcame gender stereotypes to achieve outstanding achievements in the IT industry.
