Over 50 trains added to serve upcoming holidays

The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) said on Saturday that it planned to add 52 trains in a bid to serve increased travel demand during the upcoming holidays of National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1).

Specifically, in the north, 22 more trains will be added to routes between Ha Noi and 6 provinces and cities. Particularly, nine extra trains will run on the Ha Noi-Vinh route, six on the Ha Noi - Dong Hoi route, and three on the Ha Noi - Hai Phong route, two on the Ha Noi - Thanh Hoa route. Additionally, two extra trains will operate between Ha Noi and Lao Cai, and Da Nang.

In the south, the railway sector will operate 28 extra trains from HCMC to Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Dieu Tri, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang and Phan Thiet and vice versa. In which, there will be eight additional trains between HCMC and Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Dieu Tri and Quy Nhon.

A total of 13 additional trains will operate on the HCMC - Nha Trang, and HCMC - Phan Thiet routes.

In addition, the Nha Trang - Da Nang and Ha Noi - Ho Chi Minh City routes will see an increase in the number of trains.

It is known that during the upcoming holidays for April 30 and May 1, the railway sector still maintains many policies on exemption and reduction of train ticket prices for some eligible groups of passengers.

Currently, tickets for enhanced trains are now available for sale on websites, stations, ticket points and agents nationwide under the railway section.
