Thai businesses explore investment opportunities in Da Nang
At a working session on Tuesday with the Office of the Thai Investment Promotion Agency in Viet Nam, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam said that by the end of 2022, there had been 13 Thai-invested projects worth a total investment capital of about US$60 million, focusing on the fields of commerce, retail, manufacturing, garment, design and construction.

Thailand is one of Da Nang's important partners in many fields, especially export. In 2022, Da Nang's export and import turnover to Thailand reached US$6 million and US$47 million, respectively.
The Vice Chairman Nam said that Da Nang has been implementing many activities, programmes and solutions towards building an environmentally-friendly city, sustainable and ecological development. The city has issued many preferential policies on land use for investors wishing to do business in the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park.
Mr. Idsara Amornkitbamrung, the Director of Economic and Investment Centre 2 under the Thailand Board of Investment said that Thailand and Viet Nam have a strong and good trade relationship. Many Thai investors are very interested in seeking investment opportunities in Da Nang for business expansion targets in Viet Nam.
Thai businesses are always introduced to the overview of socio-economic development and investment environment in Da Nang with regard to logistics, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Transport Dang Nam Son said that Da Nang is the locomotive of the central key economic region and the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC)’s gateway to the sea.

The Da Nang Port is a modernly equipped container port in Central Viet Nam. In addition, the city has 50ha of logistics warehouses. The time to ship goods along EWEC route is more economical and beneficial than passing through the Strait of Malacca.
The city is now calling for investment in logistics projects in the city such as the Lien Chieu Port Logistics Centre, the Hi-tech Park Logistics Centre and the Da Nang International Airport Logistics Centre.
