Unlocking startup potential of Central Viet Nam

Da Nang is identified by the central government as one of the three national innovation start-up hubs, playing a central role in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions.

Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology Le Duc Vien made the statement at the Thursday seminar entitled ‘Unlocking startup potential of Central Viet Nam’ in the city which co-hosted by TV Hub (Vietnamese Shark Tank manufacturer) and Da Nang's Song Han Incubator Centre (Songhan Incubator).

According to Director Vien, till date, Da Nang has issued nearly 20 supporting mechanisms and policies. The city has a total of 6 incubators, 4 investment funds, 2 creative spaces, 10 co-working spaces, 10 startup clubs and 3 innovation startup support centers.

In the two years 2020 and 2022, Da Nang won the startup and innovation city award by the Viet Nam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA). Science, technology and innovation are positioned as the key nucleus in the construction and the socio-economic development of the city.

During the seminar, participating experts, investors and businesses shared about the start-up picture in Central Viet Nam, as well as discussed solutions to fully tap potentials of the region in a bid to improve production and business efficiency, and boost business growth.

They also made proposals about orientation to help Da Nang realise its target of becoming an attractive city for innovation start-ups to create new growth engines, and transforming the digital business model to accelerate enterprise value.

The event featured a number of solutions to facilitate startups to call for investment capital, and tourism businesses in Central Viet Nam to make a breakthrough and comment on the importance of digital transformation of the tourism industry.

During the event, representatives of the central startup ecosystem and Shark Tank Vietnam signed a strategic cooperation agreement to support startup activities for businesses in Central Viet Nam.
