The Viet Nam General Statistics Office has just published a report on the spatial cost of living index of the centrally-run cities and provinces in 2021.

Accordingly, the cost of living index of the people of the total 63 provinces and cities is approved by the General Department of Statistics.

Statistical evaluation is based on surveys, comparing prices of 11 groups of essential goods to know which provinces and cities have the highest and the lowest cost of living.

The 11 specific commodity groups are food and catering services; beverages and tobacco; apparel, hats, hats and footwear; housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials; household appliances; medicines and medical services; traffic; post and Telecommunication; education; culture, entertainment and tourism; other goods and services.

According to the report, the cost of living index in Da Nang in 2021 was 96.4 points, ranking 4^th in the country, after Ha Noi, Quang Ninh Province and Ho Chi Minh City.

This was the second year in a row that Da Nang had ranked 4^th in the cost of living index. Previously, the central coastal city ranked third in 2018 and 2019.
