This year, Da Nang participated in the joint pavilion, alongside four other centrally-run cities and provinces, namely Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh.

The joint pavilion highlights beach resort products and festive events in 2023 such as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (from June 2 to July 8); ‘Enjoy Da Nang Summer’ festival (July 28 to August 3), ‘Enjoy Da Nang Now 2023’ domestic stimulus programme, business stimulus packages and MICE tourism support programmes.

There are many activities such as answering questions related to Da Nang tourism; making sing and dance covers; taking check-in photos, experiencing VR360; liking and sharing fanpage Danang Fantasticity to receive gifts at the pavilion.

It is known that, with the theme ‘Cultural Tourism’, VITM directs tourism businesses to invest in building up new tourism products on the basis of exploiting the unique values of traditional Vietnamese culture and its cultural heritages.

At VITM Ha Noi 2023, many tourism promotion activities will take place, through business-to-business and business-to-consumer meetings, and activities held by Vietnamese and international tourism promotion agencies.

VITM Ha Noi 2023 attracts 600 participating units from 51 cities and provinces nationwide, 15 countries and territories worldwide with a combined total of registered 450 pavilions.

The four-day event is expected to attract over 60,000 visitors, and representatives from 3,000 businesses that are interested in seeking cooperation opportunities and partners.

Addressing the opening ceremony on Thursday, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said, tourism is considered a 'smokeless industry', making an important contribution to the economic development, not only in Viet Nam but also in many countries around the world.

He said that tourism is also a bridge to connect tradition with modernity, and peoples and cultures around the world.

A highlight of the fair will be a forum on Vietnamese cultural tourism development with the participation of local and international delegates.

A seminar on reducing plastic waste in the tourism industry will be also arranged within the event's framework, focusing on measures to promote sustainable tourism development associated with environmental protection.
