Quang Ninh Province continued securing its position at the top of the 2022 PCI rankings with the impressive score of 72.95/100, followed by Bac Giang Province with 72.8/100 and Hai Phong City with 70.76/100.

Compared to PCI rankings in 2021, Da Nang dropped 5 places. In this year’s PCI rankings, Da Nang is in the second place in the central coastal region behind Thua Thien Hue Province with the score of 69.36/100.

PCI rankings 2022 were announced according to the results of a survey of 12,000 businesses across the country. This is the 17th time the PCI report has been published.

PCI is the result of a major ongoing, collaborative effort between the VCCI and the USAID to enhance provincial economic governance to create a business-enabling environment for private sector development in Viet Nam.

The PCI is designed to assess the ease of doing business, economic governance, and the efficacy of administrative reform efforts by local governments in all cities and provinces across Viet Nam and municipalities.

Also during the PCI 2022 announcement ceremony, VCCI announced the Provincial Green Index (PGI). This is a set of indicators to evaluate and rank environmentally friendly localities from the perspective of business practices. Included are the level of application of environmentally friendly technologies by local businesses, the management level and behavior with the environment, the level of concern and willingness to invest in environmental issues by local governments, and many other important environmental issues.
