Effectiveness of Da Nang OCOP programme needs improving

The Da Nang government has issued a plan to implement the OCOP (One Commune - One Product) programme in 2023. Accordingly, the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shall assume the prime responsibility for coordinating with relevant agencies and sectors in comprehensive implementation of the contents of the OCOP programme in the 2022 - 2025 period.

At the same time, heed will be paid to conducting surveys to assess the current situation and the development potential of products in the city, proposing solutions to enhance the quality of OCOP products in the 2022 - 2025 period, reviewing potential 5-star products, supporting funds for subjects participating in the evaluation and classification of 5-star OCOP products at the national level in 2023.

In addition, focus on reviewing and announcing for OCOP subjects until the deadline for assessment and reclassification in 2023, promoting the inspection and supervision of OCOP products after being recognised for food quality and safety.

The municipal Department of Industry and Trade will launch trade promotion activities, connect the supply and demand of OCOP products.

The municipal Department of Science and Technology is in charge of helping in brand development, trademarks, geographical indications, standards, measurement, quality, registration of codes, barcodes and stamps, product traceability for OCOP subjects.

Also, more support from the municipal government will be given to economic organisations, startup businesses to innovate technology, improve productivity and quality of OCOP products according to the city's policies.

The municipal Department of Tourism will work with Hoa Vang District People's Committee to select and develop a plan to develop OCOP products belonging to the group of community-based tourism services, eco-tourism and tourist attractions, promote agricultural and rural tourism products and services on the basis of promoting strengths, cultural values and local characteristics associated with the development of OCOP products.
