The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the ‘Technical Assistance for Urban Energy Security in Viet Nam project sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has recently launch the award honouring the economical and efficient use of energy in the city in 2023.

Participants are manufacturing and trading service enterprises in the city with energy consumption in 2022 from 200 TOE (Tonne of Oil Equivalent) or more.

They are divided into 10 groups of industries, namely seafood processing, the production of plastic products paper, textiles, construction material and other industrial products, along with hotels, resorts, supermarkets, commercial centers, office buildings, commercial enterprises, other services.

The organisers will accept entries from March 31 to April 20, 2023. The awards are expected to be announced at the end of June 2023.

The organising board will select the 10 most typical enterprises in 10 industry groups for awards.

Awards for winning enterprises include certificate granted by the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade and the USAID-sponsored project of Technical Assistance for Urban Energy Security in Viet Nam, trophies, vouchers to buy Vinfast electric motorbike (10 vouchers for businesses with each worth VND10 million) and cash.

Within the framework of the launching ceremony, the municipal Department of Industry and Trade and USAID held exhibitions introducing a number of innovative and the commercialisation for energy distributed for urban areas.
