Farmers in Da Nang harvest winter-spring rice crop
In recent days, farmers in Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District have been harvesting their winter-spring rice crop in the 2022-2023 period. This year's winter-spring rice crop is relatively favourable, so many farmers are expected to have a good harvest and good prices.

At a rice paddy field in Yen Ne 1 Village, Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, farmer Tran Thi Trinh said that her family has 5 poles of rice with a total area of 2,500m2 which are being harvested.
Compared with every year, this year's winter-spring rice crop has grown relatively stable and favourable. The family of Mrs. Trinh harvests an average of 11-12 bags of fresh rice per each pole of 500m2, an increase of nearly 2 bags over the same period.
"This year's rice seeds look beautiful and are not flattened. Although it was rainy and cold at the beginning of the crop, which did not affect the development of the rice so much. As soon as the harvest is complete, I will quickly prepare seedbeds for the upcoming summer-autumn crop" Mrs. Trinh said.
Mr. Ngo Van Sinh, Director of the Hoa Tien 1 General Business and Production Service Cooperative in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, said that since April 11, members of the cooperative have begun harvesting their winter-spring rice crop, and the work is expected to be completed on April 30 in order to sow the summer - autumn rice crop on schedule. The cooperative’s rice yield in the winter-spring crop in 2022-2023 is estimated to reach about 64-66 quintals per ha.
“The cooperative has prepared 6 combine harvesters to support farmers in harvesting their winter-spring rice crop in a bid to quickly start a new production crop. It is expected that on May 15, we will sow the first batch of the summer-autumn rice crop in 2023" Mr. Sinh unveiled.
According to the Hoa Vang District authorities, in the winter-spring rice crop for the 2022 - 2023 period, the whole district has produced more than 2,290ha of rice.
Up to now, many hectares of ripening rice have been urgently harvested by farmers in the district.
