The Son Tra Peninsula is considered as one of the city’s impressive tourist destinations for domestic and international visitors. This year, with the theme of ‘Enjoying Da Nang 2023’, the district targets to attract about 1-1.5 million visitors. To realise its target, the local tourism sector has been implementing many useful activities in order to attract more visitors.

Currently, the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches is repairing and upgrading guard stations of the tourist spots, stopovers, signboards and public utilities to ensure their beauty in service of local residents and tourists.

Specifically, at the guard stations, the management board is rechecking the lighting system and safety warning signs at guard barriers, and wifi network to serve check-in/check-out procedures on the peninsula.

Great efforts are being made to repaint, decorate and place check-in models at the stops for guests to take souvenir photos, as well as build a plan to upgrade two stops at the Ban Co (Chess Board) Peak and the Vong Canh Hills in order to meet the public needs of sightseeing in the coming time.

In addition, the management board is changing the content of warning signs, and placing luminescent ones in a bid to ensure the safety of guests. Heed is on completing the development of infrastructure for the CT15 inland wharf so as to promptly put it into operation during the holidays of April 30 and May 1.

Mrs. Duong Thi Xuan Lieu, Head of the Tourism Management and Exploitation Office in the Son Tra Peninsula, said that once operational, the CT15 inland wharf will be associated with sea-based tour products such as diving to explore the coral reefs, and going fishing with fishermen, making it one of the highlights to attract and impress visitors.

Along with that, the management board will restart trekking tours to experience "green space", combined with raising public awareness about conservation of natural ecosystems.

Moreover, a series of tourism events and festivals will be organised across the district, including a dance contest entitled ‘Da Nang Green Dance’ in response to Earth Day on April 22, running activities to pick up trash combined with experiencing destinations named ‘Son Tra Family Run’, the opening ceremony of the ‘Da Nang Beach Tourism Season 2023’ programme, the 'Flying over the silver sea' paragliding tournament, and a chess tournament.

In March 2023, the management implemented the community project "Green Reading Station" in Son Tra Peninsula and some schools in the city to create new experience space for local residents and visitors.

Furthermore, the management board signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Green Viet Center for Biodiversity Conservation (GreenViet) on carrying out communication and education activities to raise awareness about protecting wildlife and the environment.

According to Mr. Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Director of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, to ensure the safety of visitors to the Son Tra peninsula, the Da Nang government has issued Plan No. 6853/PA-UBND dated December 14, 2022, with regulations on visiting time, sightseeing routes, objects and control methods by providing travel cards, and using the QR-Code to control the number of people entering and leaving the peninsula.

During the upcoming peak tourist season, the management board will regularly arrange staff at checkpoints and conduct patrols along tourist routes, as well as install surveillance cameras at checkpoints and popular tourist destinations.
